IL3（白细胞介素3）是一种由活化的T细胞、肥大细胞和自然杀伤细胞分泌的细胞因子，属于造血生长因子家族。其主要生物学功能是促进造血干细胞和多系祖细胞的增殖与分化，尤其对髓系细胞（如粒细胞、巨噬细胞、红细胞和巨核细胞）的发育至关重要。IL3通过结合细胞表面的IL3受体（由α链和共同β链组成）激活JAK-STAT、MAPK和PI3K信号通路，从而调控细胞存活、增殖和分化。该基因位于人类5号染色体（5q31.1），与GM-CSF和IL5基因相邻，三者构成细胞因子基因簇，共享受体β链（βc）。IL3基因突变较为罕见，但可能引起造血功能异常，如骨髓增生异常或免疫缺陷。过表达IL3可能导致骨髓过度增殖甚至白血病，而表达降低则可能引发血细胞减少或免疫应答减弱。IL3与某些过敏性疾病和自身免疫疾病相关，因其能激活肥大细胞和嗜碱性粒细胞释放组胺等炎症介质。在基因家族层面，IL3属于四螺旋束细胞因子家族，其成员具有相似的三维结构，并通过共享受体亚基实现功能冗余或协同作用。该家族还包括GM-CSF、IL5、IL6等，均参与免疫调节和造血过程。
The protein encoded by this gene is a potent growth promoting cytokine. This cytokine is capable of supporting the proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types. It is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis.
